So in order to keep life somewhat simple at the moment, I’m not planning to immediately connect the Pi to the network via cable \/ monitor \/ keyboard or mouse…that means it’s gonna be headless.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 1<\/strong> download the latest Rasbian LITE image<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 2<\/strong> extract the .img file from the file that was downloaded<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 3<\/strong> connect the sd card to the computer and use Etcher to flash the sd card to the latest raspian image<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 4<\/strong> enable ssh functionality by connecting to \/Volumes\/boot followed by touch ssh (this created a blank file called ssh)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 5<\/strong> enable<\/g> wireless functionality by editing \/Volumes\/wpa_supplicant.conf to reflect the following changes,<\/g> when complete save the changes and eject the sd card<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 6<\/strong> connect your pi to power and turn it on<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Step 7<\/strong> ping raspberrypi.local to determine your ip<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Step 8<\/strong> ssh raspberrypi.local -l pi with a password of raspberry<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Step 9<\/strong> perform the following tasks<\/p>\n\n\n\n
a) sudo raspi-config<\/p>\n\n\n\n
b) sudo apt-get update<\/p>\n\n\n\n
c) sudo apt-get dist-upgrade<\/p>\n\n\n\n
d) sudo reboot<\/p>\n\n\n\n
